As a young adult, I was desperately seeking approval, not from just others but myself. My size and weight defined me, which turned into very dangerous and unhealthy habits of over-exercising and under-eating.
I struggled for years with feeling ashamed of my body, even though I was very thin. My weight fluctuated, and when I gained weight, I hated myself, and when I lost it, it was not good enough. No matter the number on the scale or size of my clothes, I was so miserable and deeply depressed. My depression took me to the lowest of lows, and I attempted suicide. By the grace of God, I was not successful, and to this day and through this platform, I want to help as many people as I can discover that true wellness is much more than losing weight or getting a "fit" body. It is developing the daily habits to live a life to cultivate mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health!
I received a B.S. in Kinesiology and became a Certified Exercise Physiologist, Personal Trainer, Precision Nutrition Coach, and certified Health Coach. I have been coaching for over 20 years, and my greatest lessons have been from my journey to establish mental and physical health through the science and strategies of habit reshaping. I now help others reshape the old habits that no longer serve them and establish the daily habits needed to be mentally and physically healthy and live their best lives.
